Lawns · beds and borders · vegetables · pots and containers
Your soil forgets. This remembers.
A natural volcanic mineral that holds water and nutrients in the root zone — and does not break down, wash out or need replacing.
A lawn on sandy soil is a bucket with a hole in it. Water goes through. Fertiliser goes through. Three days after rain the grass is stressed again, and most of what you fed it is below the roots.
Clinoptilolite is full of microscopic pores that hold water, and its electrical charge holds nutrients — particularly ammonium, the form of nitrogen grass actually takes up. Cornell University measured it: added to sand, it doubled the plant-available water and lifted the soil's nutrient-holding capacity from almost nothing to 13 cmol/kg, without slowing drainage.
A four-year study in Poland, published in 2025, tested it on ryegrass and red fescue lawns. Better germination. More root mass. Better ground cover. Better winter survival. And measurably fewer broadleaf weeds.
Compost feeds the soil and disappears within a season. This is a mineral: it does not decompose, does not wash out and does not need replacing. Work it in once and every later application adds to the last.

- Nutrient-holding capacity from almost nothing to 13 cmol/kgPetrovic 1993

How to use it
- Lawn: 5–10 kg per 100 m² after scarifying or aerating, brushed in. Repeat each spring and autumn.
- Beds, borders and vegetables: 20–40 kg per 100 m², forked into the top 15 cm, once.
- Pots and containers: 5–10% by volume, mixed through the whole medium.
- Ivory white, odourless, pH 7.0–8.0. Safe around children and pets — it is the same mineral grade used in drinking-water filters and animal bedding.
What it will not do
It is not a fertiliser — it holds nutrients, it does not supply them. It holds ammonium, not nitrate and not phosphate, whatever some suppliers claim. And on a heavy clay soil that already has plenty of cation exchange capacity it will do very little. This is a product for sand, light soils, containers and new-build gardens, and we would rather tell you that than sell you a bag you do not need.
If you have never used it, start with the 3 kg carton and one bed. It is cheap, it is reversible, and you will see the difference in watering frequency before you see it anywhere else.
